Celebration of Life for Sarah Yates

Saturday October 19th at 4pm

There is going to be a celebration of life for Sarah Yates at the Salcha senior building.

This is a potluck, so be sure to pass this message on to others who don't have email or facebook.

Obituary

This coming Monday the 9th is our monthly meeting and we would love to have you all come and help us celebrate Paula's (our president) birthday.  We will have cake and coffee.  The meeting starts at 7pm and would like you all there at 6:30.  Hope to see you then.

Normally, I don't say much here on the website, but where it has finally come down to...

I'm not a Republican, I'm not a Democrat, I am an American and I want my country back!

I took an oath on August 1st 1968 to defend my country, to keep it FREE, to defend the Constitution, apparently that is contrary to our current governments policy. There are no parties in the Constitution.

In Liberty,

Morrie

There is no such thing as too much action when it comes to Liberty and Freedom.
That is why we are losing it, too much complaining and not enough action.

You are an Alaskan and an American!!!

If they want collectivism, now is the time to give it to them.  Burn down those phone lines!!!

The first phone numbers in your phone contact list (speed dial) should be your elected officials.
Please call them often so they don't forget who they work for!

Sent: Friday, August 2, 2013 3:35 PM
Subject: EXCLUDE OBAMACARE FROM THE CONTINUING RESOLUTION

Dear Friends:
Today, the House has passed 232 to 185 a bill to ban the IRS from enforcing the Affordable Care Act.  But we have to apply public pressure to finish the job
Would you take 5-10 minutes of your time to Defund Obamacare?

I'm writing to ask you to call Don Young, Lisa Murkowski and Mark Beggich at 202-244-3121. Ask them to Exclude Obamacare from the Continuing Resolution.

I'm asking you to set aside any other political issue you are concerned with and make this your top priority.  I would also ask you to do the important step of forwarding this e-mail to everyone in your e-mail address book.

We have the numbers in the US House to pass a continuing resolution largely due to liberty Americans that organized for the 2010 mid-term election on this very issue, socialized medicine.  This is where the rubber meets the road and we'd be crazy not to fight this now!

The number is 202-224-3121 or call their local offices.

So whether you are a Tea Party Patriot, a Ron Paul supporter, a 9/12 member, a College Republican, a 2nd Amendment activist, an Anarcho Capitalist, a small business, a Libertarian, a disaffected Republican, or just someone who wants to be left alone,
THIS IS THE MOMENT WE'VE ORGANIZED AND HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR.  Let's stand together and Defund Obamacare.  We have under 60 days left to let Congress know that this will be THE election issue in 2014, just as it was in 2010.
Even if you've signed a petition, please call today and let them know that you are very concerned about Obamacare.  Ask them to Exclude Obamacare from the CR.  They are letting the Unions out, they are giving waivers to the IRS employee union, they're even letting large corporations by with a one year pass.

PLEASE SHARE!!!

The fire size has been updated to 20 acres as of June 17. Three fire crews (Chena Hotshots, White Mountain
Type 2 Initial Attack, Fairbanks #1 EFF) are currently assigned with another on order (Fairbanks #2 EFF) for

SALCHA SENIORS

We are having a bingo/ dinner April 13th.  There will be 50/50, pulltabs and a raffle.  We are raffling off two afghans.  One purple and white, and the other white, red and black. The raffle tickets are 50 cents each and will go to June 30th for the drawing.  You don't have to be there.  The proceeds go towards the families in our community for the holidays.  We are buying gifts and will have food baskets but it takes money so we are getting started now.  If you buy tickets and win either one of the afghans then we will mail it to you.  You don't have to be present to win.  Do take a chance and buy some tickets.  My mom (Phyllis) made both of them.  You can let us know which one you want the tickets to go towards (the purple or red, black and white one).  The dinner will be great and cost $6 (Indian Tacos) and my mom is making up the bread for them.  Hope to see a lot of people there to support our community.  Please pass this on to others for me.  Thanks, see you there on the 13th.  You can call me at 907-378-4963 or if you are out of town you can mail the money to Salcha Seniors  Box 140075  Salcha Alaska 99714Joe and Rhonda Procel

Joel's Place Needs a Few things, Click if you think you can help out.

Salcha Neighborly Organization (SNO) has acquired three Vantran Style Vehicles. Currently, we need to find some funding to help with startup cost. In short, we will be enhancing the Fairbanks MAC system Whiteline which has two express runs in the morning and two in the evening. SNO would facilitate getting people to and from the bus stops and one or two midday runs to N. Pole to connect with the green line.

SNO is currently looking at the cost of insurance, maintenance, fuel and registration.

Like our current fire service, local funding keeps our taxes down. Hopefully, this plan will become self supporting.

For Salcha, think that you can get on our local service at 40 below and through a series of stops get to the airport... no outrageous parking fees, no wear and tear on your vehicle. UAF students can get on a bus and enjoy a day at Harding Lake... Public transportation

Further, there would be the availability of a Vantran for other events. All three are handicap accessible. 14 passengers per vehicle.

If you have some ideas or know of someone that can help, please feel free to comment or forward. Thank You.

2013 brings a renewed drive to bring services to our neighbors here in Salcha, last summer we were short a few board members. Modeling after the Compass Visioning Sessions that the City of Fairbanks held some years back, Salcha.org is inviting the members of our community to join in to come together to look at how we would like to see Salcha in the next 5 years, 10 years, and beyond.
